1. There are a few ways in which my product uses normal conventions that help enhance its smoothness. One of the biggest ideas I incorporated into my magazine was for the double page spread; here I was able to get inspiration from many of the standard magazine spreads in which there was one page with a quote, and the other with information that corresponds and elaborates more on it. This method felt very clean to me in the way that it would be easy for readers to understand it better, so it was easy on the eyes. My magazine represents the Japanese social group because it deals with their culture and ideas. It is based around the food and important aspects that go along with it that are very common and practical in Japan.
2. First off, this magazine is targeting people who are not only interested in Japanese food but the history and culture that goes along with it. That being said, my product engages with audiences by immediately showing a bright picture of the most popular food in Japan on the cover: sushi. I was able to word my cover accordingly to inform my audience that it is not just meals but sweets, as well as the story behind it all. I would want this product to be distributed through both print and online resources. Many people, such as I, enjoy reading a physical copy of something more than an online one; however, many other people disagree and would rather have it easily accessed on their devices. So, I would want to distribute it in a way to make it readily available for everyone and their own preferences. 3. My production skills developed very well over the course of making this product. At first, I was unfamiliar with all online photoshop and creation websites that would assist in making a magazine, but I am now able to use many sites to get exactly what I want done. For example, Canvas has been a huge help in getting me the resources I need for a layout as well as ways to make it my own. Another example could be InDesign because it helps me enhance my quality and likings even more. This process has made me understand and enjoy using different websites to create the exact product I want. My production skills also increased in the aspect that I now know what exactly a product should be like based on the intended audience. Figuring out what design, layout, wording, and pictures is key to focusing on the target audience. 4. Like previously stated, I used applications such as Canva and InDesign to help in aiding me for creating my desired product. The technology online can edit certain photos I want and add special features to make it seem professional. Without technology, this could not have been done because it was crucial in photoshopping pictures to make sure the text blended well with it. These sites made it so my product could be clean looking and not confusing for people. I did not make many changes to my double page spread since the last time I posted on my blog, but I did fix some spelling errors. It is now error-free and should be professional in that sense.
Compared to my previous TOC, I changed something to make it more professional. Instead of all bright colored red fonts with barely any difference, I made my descriptions a darker font to not only make it look nicer but to have the audience be able to see it better. It makes a huge difference and I was still able to stay within the color pallet of my picture. For example, the dark red color I was referring to is actually in the color pallet of the picture up top when I logged it into Canva. This helped make my decision of keeping it easier because it all matches.
From the last time I revised my cover, I have made a few subtle changes to make it better. For one, I moved the "Sweetest Treats" down more so it does not contrast with the background like before. Secondly, I tried to make the color of the font slightly lighter so it does't blend as easily and stands out more. These changes were only subtle but I feel like it really helped enhance the accuracy of the words.
